With many garden transformations under our belt, today we’re looking back at a stunning garden patio project we completed for our clients Jan and Roddy in Long Eaton. This transformation turned their garden into an inviting space perfect for entertaining and relaxing. By replacing their outdated sandstone patio, adding a beautiful outdoor kitchen, and installing modern, low-maintenance fencing, we created a stylish yet functional outdoor living area that they can enjoy for years to come.
The project began with the replacement of the old sandstone patio. Jan and Roddy wanted something fresh and modern that would brighten up their outdoor space. After discussing several options, they decided on Sahara Limestone in a Beige colour, supplied by Paving Stones Direct. This natural stone brings a sophisticated look to the garden together with excellent durability and weather resistance.
Our team took great care during the installation process, ensuring that each slab was laid evenly and with precision. We used high-quality materials throughout, meaning the new garden patio will retain its appearance and stability over time. The clean lines and smooth finish of the Sahara Limestone provided the perfect foundation for the rest of the garden transformation.
One of the standout features of this project is the bespoke outdoor kitchen area we built, designed specifically to suit Jan and Roddy’s love for entertaining. Using sturdy concrete blocks, we constructed a solid framework that was then rendered for a sleek finish. To complete the kitchen, we installed a high-quality granite work surface, which not only looks stunning but also provides a durable, heat-resistant area for preparing food.
The outdoor kitchen was custom-built to include space for a grill and storage, making it a practical and attractive addition to the garden. The choice of materials ensures that the kitchen area is functional and offers a stylish focal point, perfect for hosting barbecues and al fresco dinners. We’re already looking forward to joining Jan and Roddy for a paella night in the new space!
The final touch was to improve the garden’s privacy by screening the old fence using NeoTimber slatted composite cladding. This contemporary cladding option is designed to provide an attractive backdrop whilst requiring minimal upkeep. The dark slats contrast beautifully with the lighter tones of the patio, adding depth and definition to the space.
NeoTimber composite cladding is a smart choice for outdoor projects, offering a 25-year guarantee and no need for painting, staining, or sealing. This means Jan and Roddy can spend more time enjoying their garden and less time worrying about maintenance. The new fence screen creates a cohesive look that ties the entire garden together, providing a perfect finishing touch to the transformation.
This project was a pleasure to work on, and we’re thrilled with how everything turned out. The new garden patio in Long Eaton is now a bright, welcoming space that Jan and Roddy can enjoy all year round. From the elegant Sahara Limestone patio to the custom-built outdoor kitchen and stylish NeoTimber screening, the garden has been completely transformed into a versatile space ideal for cooking, dining, and entertaining.
